The A-grade high-stud warehouse and office unit for sale forms part of a modern development in the Auckland industrial stronghold of Wiri. The property is fully leased to BCS Foodpak, an importer, supplier and distributor with over 30 years’ experience in packaging for the foodservice industry.
As a key supplier of products ranging from takeaway containers to ice cream cones and coffee cups, BCS Foodpak is well known for its biodegradable food packaging. The company supplies a wide range of compostable products made from plant-based fibres such as wood, sugar cane, bamboo or corn starch, which are produced to strict industry recyclable standards.
BCS Foodpak Limited pays annual net rent of $180,000 plus outgoings and GST for the Wiri premises, on a new three-year lease extending to 2024 with three further three-year rights of renewal.
Unit C, 57 McLaughlins Road, Wiri, Auckland, is now being marketed for sale through Nick Bayley, Karl Price and Elliott Worsley of Bayleys South Auckland. Sale will be by way of an auction on Wednesday 16 March, unless the property sells sooner.
Bayley said the property consisted of a stratum in freehold-titled unit of some 1,289 square metres, with 33 on-site car parks.
“This highly functional A-grade industrial property features a more than 1,000-square metre clear-span warehouse with a stud height of seven to eight metres. This has convenient access via a roller door with overhead canopy.
“Some 273 square metres of contemporary office space and amenities are provided over two levels, with the potential for the ground floor to be used as a showroom,” Bayley said.
The McLaughlins Road site sits within the Business – Heavy Industry zone, in the sought-after Wiri industrial precinct.
Price said a key attribute of the zone was that it contained sites large enough to accommodate large-scale industrial activities.
“Wiri is one of South Auckland’s premier industrial locations, and this is reflected in the calibre of key occupiers such as PlaceMakers, TIL Freighting, and logistics giant TNL.
“McLaughlins Road is a long, developed industrial road off Vogler Drive and Roscommon Road. Over the past five to six years, it has seen significant development by Euroclass in the new 31-hectare Stonehill Business Park, located at the southern end of the road,” said Price.
Worsley said the property for sale was positioned at the mid-point of McLaughlins Road, within a short drive of services and amenities including a Z service station on Roscommon Road, VTNZ Wiri, and the Manukau Westfield shopping centre.
“An undoubted advantage of the McLaughlins Road site is its proximity to key transport links. It offers easy access to the Southwestern Motorway connection, is handy to the Manukau Transport Centre and sits approximately eight kilometres from Auckland International Airport,” said Worsley.
